At DMEXCO - a digital marketing conference - in 2019,

there were a total of 60 all-male-panels

For avoidance of doubt, all-male-panels are panels at events or conferences that are all men. Often they’re also all-white, and all-middle class. This is unacceptable. And how did this happen, you ask? How did the events organisers manage to drop the ball so enormously they forgot women existed in the digital marketing industry 60 times? The answer is simple: they just didn’t think.

And this is the problem.

  • We want to help events organisers think more about who they put on stages.

  • We want to help events organisers realise they play a huge role in the future of their industry.

  • We know an events organiser’s job isn’t easy, and we want to help them do better.

Let’s take Britain as an example: it is a richly diverse country, and 50.8% of its population is female, yet too often entire industries at UK events are represented by the same type of person. So we need to do better. As a member of any minority, if you do not see yourself on stage, how can you feel you have a genuine role in your industry? How will you ever feel seen, and heard?

We invented DICE because no one else has, and hopefully one day it won’t need to exist.

Until then, we’re here to help.
