Why is DICE important?
The DICE Charter exists because we are facing a crisis of representation at conferences and events across the globe. If you cannot see it you cannot be it. Companies must commit to addressing this issue so a more diverse range of role models and speakers can inspire others to do the same.
We are in danger of reaching a state of stasis where underrepresented groups stop even calling out this lack of representation as nothing appears to be changing.We know there are people within the conference and events industry who passionately believe All too often people at the top of those organisations simply argue they are reflecting the industry’s they cover. But events and conferences aren’t just about an industry’s present, they shape the future, too, and we all need to commit to ensuring greater diversity on stage.
A failure to do so simply perpetuates inequality.
